PETRA

A new platform for literary translation in Europe.

PETRA (European Platform for literary translation) will be holding a congress in Brussels in December 2011.  Organisations active in the field of literary translation in Europe, at national and at transnational level, acting individually or as part of a network, are invited to meet together to work on the development of a European plan of action in support of literary translation. Initiated by Passa Porta (Brussels) and supported by the Cultural Programme of the European Commission, the European Platform for Literary Translation project (PETRA), in partnership with the Polish Book Institute (Krakow), the Literarisches Colloquium Berlin, the Slovak Literary Translators Association (Bratislava) and Transeuropéennes (Paris), aims to unite all existing initiatives, to give them the prominence they deserve, to encourage exchanges and trigger new forms of cooperation.
