Please take a look at the Petra-E Framework to get an idea of the level of experience required to apply. The BCLT Summer School is suitable for translators that consider themselves Level 2 (Advanced Learner) or Level 3 (Early Career Professional). We welcome applications from literary translators working in ANY country. This is a global opportunity.
To apply for the Summer School you must:
1) Submit the Summer School Application Form. Within the form you will be asked to include a recent sample translation of your choice, no longer than 400 words.
If you are applying for a language specific workshop (except Dutch) or Multilingual Prose please submit a prose sample. If you are applying for the Dutch workshop please submit a poetry sample. If you are applying for Multilingual Theatre please submit a theatre sample. For Training the Trainer it can be a sample in a genre of your choice.
2) Complete a Personal Details Form.
Please email your completed application and personal details forms as SEPARATE documents. Submit them both as PDF files to email@example.com by the deadline of Monday 12th April 2021.
3) Finally please complete the Equal Opportunities and Diversity Monitoring Form below. All data is anonymous and cannot be linked to your application. It will be used for monitoring purposes only and will be shared confidentially with Arts Council England and the National Centre for Writing. If you choose not to complete any part of the form it will not affect the selection process.
