Apply for the 2018 Summer School

Applications for our language workshops are now CLOSED.

However we are taking applications for a place on the Training the Trainer workshop strand. This place will be funded on a full residential basis by the AHRC Open World Research Initiative Cross-Language Dynamics: Reshaping Communities. 

The Training the Trainer workshop strand is for mid-career literary translators to learn from the current workshop leaders at the summer school, as well as UEA academics, about running literary translation workshops. The small group will be able to shadow some of the workshop leaders and also have dedicated sessions on how to facilitate workshops. The OWRI research project has funding to support a mid-career literary translator from Serbian, Croatian, Slovenian, Macedonian, Montenegrin or Bosnian.   • Attach an up-to-date CV. 
  • On a separate sheet, please tell us why you feel you would benefit from participating in the Summer School. Give details of your practical literary translation and creative writing experience, relevant academic qualifications, your enthusiasm and commitment to literary translation and creative writing and how you will benefit from attendance at the Summer School.
  • If English is not your first language, please give your level of English language competency with any qualifications obtained.
